Short Film: Mixtape

Consider who the target audience is for the short film "Mixtape"

Main character listening to his mixtape.

The audience to all short films in substantially a mature one as it not a common platform for entertainment, especially among children and teens, and it is hard to access short films without the internet. This specific short films audience was primarily judges at film festivals for short films, most notably, it was the winner of the grand prize at the 2009 Virgin Media Shorts contest. As well as this it won Best Film at both the Lancrab and Purbeck film festivals, and was even nominated for best short film at the BAFTA's in 2010. Mixtape's target audience is mostly male as the film is based on the experience of a young boy and his love of the girl next door. It targets an audience of age roughly between 20-35 as the short film was set in 1995 and is of a
Main character and the 'Girl next door'
nostalgic nature as the making of cassette tape mixtapes is outdated in modern day. It could also be argued that this short targets both older generations, firstly the audience that was alive when the music played in the short was considered Pop music, secondly, the audience that lived through the fashion of the 90's, when the film is set, and thirdly, all teens as young romance is the underlying theme of the whole short film.
